Is this your radio?

REC Alpine is the Alpine-audio variant of the early MyGIG navigation head unit - 6.5-inch touchscreen, HDD-based maps, paired with the Alpine premium amplifier package from the factory. The chassis is Alpine-built rather than Harman-built; the audio stage tunes differently above 8 kHz.

Chrysler vehicles with Chrysler REC Alpine

  • 2007-2010: Chrysler 300C SRT8, Town & Country Limited (Alpine premium)
  • 2007-2010: Dodge Charger SRT8, Challenger SRT8, Magnum SRT8
  • 2007-2010: Jeep Grand Cherokee WK SRT8, Commander Overland (Alpine premium audio)
Not sure if this is your radio?

REC and Harman RER look identical on the screen. The chassis label and part number are the deciding signal - REC carries P05064184 and P56038646 prefixes (Alpine build) rather than the Harman RER part numbers. If your speakers are badged "Alpine" you almost certainly have REC.

Where to find your serial number

White printed sticker on the top of the chassis, near the rear-right corner. The radio must be pulled from the dash; the touchscreen has no lock-state menu that exposes the serial. Three 7mm bolts and two trim clips on most applications.

Format on the label: TQ1AA / TT1AA / T**AA (10-character T-prefix on the chassis label, kept from the older Alpine line). Example: TQ1AA1198855.

How to enter the code once you receive it

When locked, the touchscreen shows "ENTER CODE" and a four-digit on-screen keypad. Tap the digits in order then tap the green check (lower right). If the keypad is hidden, tap the CODE soft key in the lower row.

Why your radio is locked

Loss of 12V power for more than about a minute - dead battery, battery replacement, alternator work, or pulling the radio.

If you entered the wrong code

Three wrong codes displays "WAIT" with a 60-minute timer. Keep the ignition in RUN or ACC so the timer counts down - cutting power restarts it. The unit cannot be permanently locked; the correct code clears it once the timer expires.
