Is this your radio?
RBL is the Alpine cassette-plus-CD double-DIN combination unit - cassette slot above, single CD below, six presets and an EQ row. Common base-to-mid trim fitment in late-1990s and early-2000s Chrysler minivans and SUVs.
Chrysler vehicles with Chrysler RBL Alpine
- 1998-2004: Chrysler Town & Country, Voyager, Concorde
- 1998-2004: Dodge Caravan, Grand Caravan, Intrepid
- 1998-2004: Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ, Cherokee XJ (cassette/CD combo trims)
RBL has both a cassette slot and a CD slot visible on the face. Single-format RAD has CD only; RBY has only cassette. Part numbers for RBL include the P04671088, P04704345, P04794047, P04858513, P04859504, P05269484/486/488 and P56022643 families.
Where to find your serial number
Top of the chassis - white sticker placed near the rear-right corner. Radio removal is required; on Caravan/Grand Caravan applications the trim bezel pries off with a plastic tool, then two 7mm bolts hold the chassis. DIN keys may be needed on Jeep WJ/XJ.
Format on the label: TQ1AA / TT1AA / T**AA (10-character T-prefix). Example: TT1AA7745019.
How to enter the code once you receive it
Power on - display reads "CODE - - - -". Preset 1 advances the first digit, preset 2 the second, and so on. Confirm with preset 5 (older RBL builds use a long-press of SCAN instead).
Why your radio is locked
Loss of 12V to the radio for more than a few seconds. Many WJ Grand Cherokee owners see this after a winch-install battery disconnect.
If you entered the wrong code
After three wrong codes the display shows "WAIT" and locks for one hour. Keep ignition in ACC during the timer. The radio never permanently locks - once the timer expires the correct code clears it.
