Is this your radio?

RAE is the Alpine-built premium single-CD head unit fitted to higher-trim early-2000s Chrysler vehicles. Single-DIN face with a CD slot above the display, rotary volume knob on the left, preset buttons 1-6 below the screen. No touchscreen, no cassette slot.

  • 2001-2007: Dodge Intrepid (Infinity/premium trims), Stratus
Not sure if this is your radio?

RAE is single CD only - if your radio has a cassette slot underneath the CD, you have RBP/RBS/RBT or RBY instead. RAE part numbers all share the 04692355/04692356 base block.

Where to find your serial number

White printed sticker on the top of the radio chassis, near the right-rear corner. The radio must be removed from the dash - early Chrysler dash bezels release with two tabs at the top edge and two 7mm screws at the bottom; four DIN-removal keys slide into the slots on either side of the face.

Format on the label: TQ1AA / TT1AA / T**AA (10-character T-prefix on the chassis label). Example: TQ1AA1234567.

How to enter the code once you receive it

Power the radio on - the display shows "CODE" followed by four dashes. Enter each digit by pressing preset buttons 1-4: preset 1 increments the first digit, preset 2 the second, and so on. Once all four digits show on the display, press preset 5 (or SCAN on some builds) to confirm.

Why your radio is locked

Any loss of 12V power triggers the lock - dead battery, battery replacement, alternator service, or pulling the radio. Pre-MyGIG Alpine units lock the moment they lose their backup constant.

If you entered the wrong code

Three wrong entries display "ERR" or "WAIT" and the keypad freezes for an hour. The display will show the count visually as a series of bars that shrink over time. Leave the ignition in ACC for the timer to count down - cutting power restarts it.
